WHAT IS AIKIDO
At Aiki Shuren Dojo Adelaide, we practice traditional Iwama style Aikido. A class will typically include weapons practice with the Japanese training sword (bokken); the short staff (jo); plus a range of open handed techniques (taijitsu) that cover joint locks, holds, and throws.
For more information on our Aikido classes at Aiki Shuren Dojo Adelaide please contact us.
At Aiki Shuren Dojo Adelaide we are passionate about sharing Iwama style Aikido with our local community in Adelaide, South Australia.
We are committed to providing clear and effective instruction in a friendly and safe environment.
Head instructor Michael Costello continues to travel to Japan regularly to be uchideshi (live in student) to Saito Sensei, to ensure our school maintains technical competency and remains up to date with progression.
Each year our Australian dojos run Aikido seminars to develop further levels of training with senior instructors, form friendships, and have a great time doing something we love.
All students - new and old - are encouraged to participate. Seminars are the perfect compliment to regular day to day training as would usually take place in our respective dojos.
